Did you catch that?

So I was reading this article about the aid convoy to Ukraine and what do you know, I ran across this:

The ultra-nationalist group Pravy Sektor (Right Sector), which has been fighting with government forces, said that 12 of its members had been killed in an ambush in the main rebel stronghold of Donetsk.

Okay why is the “ultra-nationalist group Pravy Sektor” fighting with the government forces? Remember how the actions of Pravy Sektor and Svoboda basically divided Ukraine and gave Russia a pretense for seizing the Crimea? Remember how good “European” governments aren’t supposed to tolerate this kind of radical nationalism?

Some years ago the Southern Poverty Law Center warned the Pentagon of a noticeable neo-Nazi presence within the US armed forces. While the US military has restrictions to screen out extremists, such as a ban on certain tattoos, the demands of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan led to recruiters giving waivers for people with neo-Nazi and gang tattoos. Needless to say, you don’t want these guys to be running around with weapons and explosives training.

When it comes to Ukraine, we cannot let Russia’s screaming temper tantrum distract us from the realities of the Ukrainian regime and the backward, nationalist ideology propping it up. It is clear that the rebels never had real popular support, and given the fact that they are now surrounded there can be no excuses for the haphazard and irresponsible manner in which the Ukrainian army uses its heavy weaponry.  No excuse save incompetence and cowardice, perhaps, but those aren’t really excuses are they? I am also disappointed to see that no Western journalist has used the phrase, “killing his own people.”
